We are Brave Family Adventures and we LOVE living in the great state of Texas! One of our most favorite family trips was a 15-day road trip through our beautiful state. On this trip we saw 13 State Parks, 1 National Recreation Area - Amistad, and 1 National Park - Big Bend. Our boys slid down waterfalls, swam in crystal clear rivers, and hiked through deep canyons. We started and ended where we live in Rockwall (near Dallas) but this trip can start in any corner of the state!
This spring we packed up our rugged rig with everything needed for two nights away and headed south to Lost Maples State Natural Area. Provisions for the trip included lots of food, Rambler sparkling water, plenty of s’more supplies, coffee beans from Red Sand Roastery in Seminole, Texas, and a healthy dose of adventure attitude.
When folks think of Texas, they often think of cowboys, wide-open prairies, and bar-b-q. Very rarely do they think of sand and surf. But Texas has over 350 miles of coastline and most of it isn’t full of condos and souvenir shops. So, let’s take a road trip through one of my favorite parts of our Texas-sized coast.
