      Huntsville State Park is a CCC built state park, about 65 miles north of Houston, and it offers something for everyone who visits. Our family of 5 (6 if you count the dog, which we do) has visited many state parks and campgrounds across this great state.  Though we love all of them in different ways, Huntsville State Park holds a special place in our hearts.  Tucked away in the Sam Houston National Forest, it is an emerald-colored gem of a park.
